Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety training programs for employees to promote a culture of safety.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper safety protocols are followed on-site.
  • Collaborate with management to prepare safety reports and maintain accurate records of safety activities and incidents.
  • Participate in safety meetings and provide input on safety policies and procedures to enhance workplace safety.
  • Assist in emergency response planning and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential safety incidents.
  • Support the safety officer in developing risk assessments and safety plans tailored to specific job tasks and environments.
  • Stay updated on industry safety standards and regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
  • Promote awareness of safety issues through effective communication and engagement with employees at all levels.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in safety, health, or environmental roles, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of local safety regulations and standards, with a strong understanding of risk management principles.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and tools to streamline reporting and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and implement effective safety measures.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Physical capability to conduct site inspections and participate in emergency response activities as required.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while also taking initiative and working independently.
  • A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement in safety practices and willingness to learn.
