With only few days apart there were 3 accidents that were reported with 4 deaths. The quick timing between these events is of concern. On June 25 two men died at XPO logistics when slabs of Corian fell on them. On Tuesday, a worker for YRC Freight died at a farm in Eden when scaffolding fell on him. Moulding company fined after worker injured
Magistrate Court find £150,000 to a injection moulding company after it was found guilty of breaching Section 2 (1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. A worker was severely injured with multiple fractures to his heel and serious burns when he was trying to clear a blockage on a plastics injection moulding machine. The company Brother Industries UK Limited was also ordered to pay a cost of £7,659.98.
